What is Alba, and are people moving in?
Alba is a 32-storey condominium by Edenshaw at 1 Fairview Rd. E. near Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga, with 418 residential units including four townhomes. Edenshaw says the building is complete, and people are moving in now. Homeowners began moving in during December, and move-ins continued into February 2026.
Can I motorize blinds for tall or hard-to-reach glass?
Any shade can be motorized for $115.00 more. One remote costs $50.00 and runs up to 15 shades. A motorized shade has no chain. You can choose a motor for a zebra shade, a roller blind or a Shangri-La shade.

Can neighbours book installation together?
Neighbours in one building can book together, and one visit can cover more than one home. Homes that book together are counted as one order for installation. At seven or more windows, installation is 20% off.
Each window still needs its own measurements. If you are measuring several windows yourself, measure them all in one pass with the same tape. Do not carry a measurement from one opening to another. Talk with your neighbours about which windows they want covered before arranging a shared booking.
Can I see the material before ordering?
Free material samples can be ordered on our website before you buy. A colour on a screen is a poor guide to how fabric will look in a room. Hold the sample near your window and compare it with your walls and furniture. We identify materials by number, so keep the number with your choice.
For a condo window, choose how you want the shade to work as well as the material. Zebra shades alternate sheer and solid bands on one roller. Line the bands up for privacy or offset them for filtered light. A roller blind is one panel of fabric with no bands. Shangri-La shades have soft fabric vanes held between two sheer layers. Their chain tilts the vanes open or closed, then rolls the shade up. Shangri-La materials 33 and 35 are priced by size on their own line and ordered online.
How does the chain work?
Our chain-operated shades have a continuous-loop chain, sold shrouded and anchored to the wall with a tension device. You choose which side the chain hangs on when you order. Our workshop sets the drop length to suit the window you have measured.
Before choosing the side, think about where you will stand to operate the shade and what furniture will sit beside the opening. The chain raises and lowers the shade. On a Shangri-La shade, it also tilts the fabric vanes. If you choose motorization instead, the shade has no chain at all.
What do made-to-measure blinds cost?
A chain-operated zebra shade at 24 by 72 inches costs $199.80, for a narrow full-height pane example. A bedroom-window example at 30 by 60 inches costs $206.00. A balcony-door example at 60 by 80 inches costs $464.33. A wide living-room-window example at 60 by 84 inches costs $485.00. All four together come to $1,355.13. A roller blind at 24 by 72 inches costs $139.20. A motorized zebra shade at 60 by 84 inches costs $600.00, with the remote extra, once.
These are examples of common windows. Every shade is priced from the measurements of the window it is for. Prices are before tax, with GST or HST charged by delivery province. The worked prices include shipping in Canada. Widths of 94 inches and over travel by courier in their own carton, with an $85 charge once per order. There is no minimum order. We make shades in Richmond Hill and dispatch within three working days of a confirmed order; transit is on top. Website payment is by Interac e-Transfer. Custom shades are final sale once confirmed. That does not apply to a shade arriving faulty, damaged or different from what was ordered.
Will you come to Alba to install blinds?
Alba is roughly 35 km from our workshop in a straight line. We install within 75 km of Elgin Mills and Yonge in Richmond Hill. Installation costs $100 per window, with a minimum of three. At seven or more windows, installation is 20% off, including homes that book together.
If you measure yourself, decide on an inside or outside mount first. For an inside mount, check for at least 2 inches of flat depth. Measure width first, then height, to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. Measure widths at the top, middle and bottom, and use the narrowest. Measure heights to the sill at the left, middle and right, and use the longest. Give us the exact opening without subtracting anything. We make the deduction ourselves. An outside mount overlaps the opening: add at least 2 inches each side and 2 to 3 inches above.
