Curio Toronto blinds for move-in month

Getting your keys at Curio this month means choosing what to put over bare glass. We make zebra shades, roller blinds and Shangri-La shades to your measurements in Richmond Hill. Orders are dispatched within three working days of confirmation, with transit on top. Curio is inside our installation area. You can choose chain operation or a motor, and price each window by its own measurements.

What is Curio and are people moving in?

Curio is a high-rise condominium at 801 The Queensway in Etobicoke, Toronto, being built by Marlin Spring Developments. People are moving in now. The builder includes it among its move-in ready condos, with suites showing a move-in date of 30 to 60 days.

Would a roller blind suit a condo window better than a zebra shade?

A roller blind is one plain panel of fabric with no bands. A chain-operated roller blind at 24 by 72 inches costs $139.20 before tax, with shipping in Canada included. A chain-operated zebra shade at 24 by 72 inches costs $199.80 on the same basis. Choose the roller blind if you prefer a plain layer and want the lower price at that size. We make roller blinds in materials 20, 21, 22 and 31.

A zebra shade alternates sheer and solid bands on one roller. Line the bands up for privacy or offset them for filtered light. Shangri-La shades have soft fabric vanes held between two sheer layers. Their chain tilts the vanes open or closed, then rolls the shade up. We make them in materials 33 and 35, with their own size-based pricing online. Free material samples can be ordered on our website before you buy.

How does the chain work and which side can it hang on?

Our chain-operated shades use a continuous loop chain, sold shrouded and anchored to the wall with a tension device. You choose which side the chain hangs on when you order. Our workshop sets the drop length to suit the window you have measured. For a condo window, think about where you will stand to operate the shade before choosing the side.

Measuring width: take the width of the window opening at the top, the middle and the bottom, then order the narrowest of the three. 1 2 3 Top Middle Bottom Measure all three. Order the NARROWEST width
Three width measurements. The narrowest one is the one that matters. It is the only width guaranteed to clear the frame.

Decide on inside or outside mounting before measuring. An inside mount sits within the opening and needs at least 2 inches of flat depth for the cassette. An outside mount fixes to the wall above the opening and overlaps it: add at least 2 inches each side and 2 to 3 inches above. Measure width first, then height, to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. For an inside mount, measure the opening’s width at the top, middle and bottom and use the narrowest. Measure height to the sill at the left, middle and right and use the longest. Give us those opening measurements without subtracting anything; we make the deduction ourselves.

Can I motorize a shade for tall or hard-to-reach glass?

Any shade can be motorized for $115.00 more. One remote costs $50.00 and runs up to 15 shades. A motorized shade has no chain at all. For tall or hard-to-reach glass, you can operate it with the remote rather than reaching for a chain.

The motor is a flat addition for each shade you choose to motorize. The remote is extra, once. A motorized zebra shade at 60 by 84 inches costs $600.00 before tax, with shipping in Canada included. Add the remote separately when pricing the order.

Can neighbours book installation together?

Neighbours in one building can book together, and one visit can cover more than one home. Homes that book together are counted as one order for installation pricing. Installation is $100 per window, with a minimum of three. At seven or more windows, installation is 20% off.

Measure every window you want to order, even when several homes are booking together. Windows are rarely square, so take the measurements for each opening rather than carrying one window’s measurements across the order. If you are measuring several windows yourself, measure them all in one pass with the same tape.

What do made-to-measure blinds cost at real window sizes?

For a chain-operated zebra shade, 24 by 72 inches, an example narrow full-height pane, is $199.80. A bedroom-window example at 30 by 60 inches is $206.00. A balcony-door example at 60 by 80 inches is $464.33. A wide living-room-window example at 60 by 84 inches is $485.00. All four together come to $1,355.13. These are common-window examples; every shade is priced from the measurements of the window it is for.

These prices are before tax, with shipping in Canada included. GST or HST is charged by delivery province. Widths of 94 inches and over travel by courier in their own carton, with an $85 charge once per order. There is no minimum shade order: one shade is fine. The website accepts Interac e-Transfer. Custom shades are final sale once the order is confirmed. That does not cover a shade that arrives faulty, damaged or different from what was ordered.

Will you come to Curio and install the shades?

Yes. Curio is roughly 30 km from our workshop in a straight line, inside our installation area of 75 km from Elgin Mills and Yonge in Richmond Hill. Installation is $100 per window, with a minimum of three. At seven or more windows, installation is 20% off. Homes that book together count as one order.

We make shades to order in our Richmond Hill assembly shop and dispatch within three working days of a confirmed order. Transit is on top of that. The mechanical parts of a shade our own team installs have lifetime warranty cover. That includes the roller, chain, brackets and motor. Fabric is excluded from the warranty.

Where the facts come from. What this page says about Curio comes from marlinspring.com, which we read on 6 October 2026. ShadeForge makes and fits window shades. We are an independent business with no connection with Marlin Spring Developments or with Curio, and the photographs on this page are of other homes we have fitted.
