Westerly Toronto blinds for move-in month

If you are moving into Westerly this month, start with the measurements of each bare window. We make zebra shades, roller blinds and Shangri-La shades to order in Richmond Hill. A roller blind gives you a plain fabric panel; a zebra shade gives you adjustable bands. We dispatch confirmed orders within three working days, with transit on top, and install within 75 km.

What is Westerly and are people moving in?

Westerly is a condominium development in Etobicoke Centre, Toronto, at Dundas and Islington, being built by Tridel and Hollyburn Properties. Its two condominium towers are Westerly at 25 Cordova Avenue, a 20-storey residence, and Westerly 2 at 60 Central Park Roadway, a 27-storey tower. The buildings are move-in ready, and people are moving in now.

Should I choose a roller blind instead of a zebra shade?

A roller blind is one panel of fabric with no bands. A roller blind at 30 by 72 inches costs $165.75 before tax, with shipping in Canada included. A chain-operated zebra shade at 30 by 72 inches costs $237.00 on the same basis. Choose a roller blind when you want a plain layer across a condo window and a lower price at the same size.

We make roller blinds in materials 20, 21, 22 and 31. The workshop identifies each material by its number, so use that number when choosing your fabric. Free material samples can be ordered on the website before buying. You can put them beside your furniture and finishes before committing to a made-to-measure order.

Which shades should I choose for a bedroom?

The room-darkening zebra materials are 1, 2, 5, 9, 13 and 30. Material 35 is the room-darkening option for a Shangri-La shade. These are the dark materials. Room-darkening does not mean shutting out all light. Keep that in mind when choosing a covering for a bedroom where you want less light.

Shangri-La shades have soft fabric vanes held between two sheer layers. The chain tilts the vanes open or closed and then rolls the shade up. We make them in materials 33 and 35. They have their own size-based pricing on the website and can be ordered online. Order free samples if you want to compare the materials before buying.

What should I put on a balcony door?

A balcony door is usually the widest opening in a flat. You can use one wide shade or two shades side by side. Check where the handle lands before choosing the arrangement and mount. Leave room for the handle to work without catching the fabric. We make shades from 9 to 109 inches wide and up to 130 inches high. Widths of 94 inches and over travel by courier in their own carton. The courier charge is $85 once per order.

Measuring width: take the width of the window opening at the top, the middle and the bottom, then order the narrowest of the three. 1 2 3 Top Middle Bottom Measure all three. Order the NARROWEST width
Three width measurements. The narrowest one is the one that matters. It is the only width guaranteed to clear the frame.

Decide on an inside or outside mount before measuring. An inside mount needs at least 2 inches of flat depth inside the frame. Measure width first, then height, to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. Take widths at the top, middle and bottom, and use the narrowest. Take heights to the sill at the left, middle and right, and use the longest. Do not subtract anything for an inside mount; we make the deduction. For an outside mount, add at least 2 inches each side and 2 to 3 inches above.

What suits floor to ceiling condo glass?

A zebra shade alternates sheer and solid bands on one roller. Line the bands up for privacy or offset them for filtered daylight. A tall condo pane can have both settings in one shade, without needing a separate blind and curtain. Measure every window individually, even when neighbouring panes look the same.

Our chain-operated shades have a continuous-loop chain, sold shrouded and anchored to the wall with a tension device. You choose which side the chain hangs on when ordering. Our workshop sets its drop length to suit the measured window. Any shade can be motorized for $115.00 more. A motorized shade has no chain. One remote costs $50.00 and runs up to 15 shades.

How much do made-to-measure condo blinds cost?

These worked prices are for chain-operated zebra shades, before tax, with shipping in Canada included. A tall bedroom window at 30 by 72 inches costs $237.00. A full-height pane at 36 by 72 inches costs $274.20. A balcony slider at 72 by 80 inches costs $547.00. A wide balcony slider at 72 by 84 inches costs $571.80. All four together come to $1,630.00. These are common-window examples; every shade is priced from the measurements of the window it is for.

A motorized zebra shade at 72 by 84 inches costs $686.80, with the remote extra, once. There is no minimum order, so one shade is fine. We make orders in Richmond Hill and dispatch within three working days of confirmation; transit is additional. The website accepts Interac e-Transfer. GST or HST is charged by delivery province. Custom shades are final sale once confirmed. That does not apply to a shade arriving faulty, damaged or different from what was ordered.

Can you come to Westerly and install the blinds?

Yes. Westerly is roughly 30 km from our workshop in a straight line. It is inside our installation area of 75 km from Elgin Mills and Yonge in Richmond Hill. Installation costs $100 per window, with a minimum of three. At seven or more windows, installation is 20% off. Neighbours in one building who book together count as one order for that rate.

When our own team installs a shade, its mechanical parts have lifetime warranty cover. The covered parts are the roller, chain, brackets and motor. Fabric is excluded. For shades we do not install, mechanical parts have 1 year of free cover, currently upgraded free to 3 years. A 5 year mechanical-parts cover can be bought at checkout, where its dollar price is shown for the order.

Where the facts come from. What this page says about Westerly comes from tridel.com, which we read on 6 October 2026. ShadeForge makes and fits window shades. We are an independent business with no connection with Tridel and Hollyburn Properties or with Westerly, and the photographs on this page are of other homes we have fitted. The picture marked Illustration was made by computer to show the kind of window: it is not a picture of Westerly, and not a photograph of our work.
