Blinds for ArtWalk Vaughan before your closing date

You can start planning blinds for your ArtWalk move before closing. Order samples ahead, then confirm sizes when you have access to the finished window openings. We make shades in Richmond Hill and dispatch within three working days of a confirmed order. Transit takes additional time, so the dispatch date needs room ahead of your moving date.

What is ArtWalk in Vaughan, and how far along is it?

ArtWalk is a condominium development under construction in the SmartVMC area of Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, Vaughan. SmartCentres REIT is building it, with design by Hariri Pontarini Architects. The development has four condominium buildings of 4, 6, 18 and 38 storeys, with 624 units.

By August 2026, the 38-storey tower had reached 13 storeys. Cladding was spreading across its west elevation.

What is a condo window head made of, and when can I measure?

A condo window head is often concrete. Fixing into it needs a masonry bit and the right plug. Leave that work to an installer if you are unsure about the surface or the fixing. Take final measurements once you can access the finished opening. Decide on the mount first. An inside mount sits within the opening and needs at least 2 inches of flat depth for the cassette. If there is less depth, use an outside mount. For an outside mount, add at least 2 inches each side and 2 to 3 inches above.

Measuring width: take the width of the window opening at the top, the middle and the bottom, then order the narrowest of the three. 1 2 3 Top Middle Bottom Measure all three. Order the NARROWEST width
Three width measurements. The narrowest one is the one that matters. It is the only width guaranteed to clear the frame.

Measure width first, then height, to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. For an inside mount, measure the width at the top, middle and bottom. Use the narrowest. Measure from the top of the opening to the sill at the left, middle and right. Use the longest height. Send us the exact opening measurements without subtracting anything. We make the deduction ourselves. Measure every window in the same pass with the same tape.

Should a balcony door have one wide shade or two?

A balcony door is usually the widest opening in a flat. You can consider one wide shade or two side by side. Check where the handle lands and whether it will catch the fabric. Our shades run from 9 to 109 inches wide and up to 130 inches high. Widths of 94 inches and over travel by courier in their own carton. The charge is $85 once per order.

Our chain-operated shades have a shrouded continuous-loop chain anchored to the wall with a tension device. You choose which side the chain hangs on. Our workshop sets the drop length. Any shade can be motorized for $115.00 more. A motorized shade has no chain. One remote costs $50.00 and runs up to 15 shades.

Which materials should I choose for a bedroom?

Our room-darkening zebra materials are 1, 2, 5, 9, 13 and 30. Material 35 is the room-darkening option for Shangri-La shades. Room-darkening does not mean shutting out all light. Free material samples can be ordered on our website before buying.

Zebra shades alternate sheer and solid bands on one roller. Line the bands up for privacy or offset them for filtered light. Shangri-La shades have soft fabric vanes held between two sheer layers. The chain tilts the vanes open or closed, then rolls the shade up. They are priced by size on their own line and can be ordered online.

Should I ask the management office before choosing a colour?

Ask the management office before choosing a colour. Many condo buildings set a rule about how window coverings look from outside.

What should I budget for made-to-measure blinds?

For a chain-operated zebra shade, 36 by 72 inches is $274.20 for a full-height pane. A floor-to-ceiling pane at 36 by 84 inches is $311.40. A living room window at 48 by 72 inches is $348.60. A wide floor-to-ceiling pane at 42 by 84 inches is $354.80. All four together come to $1,289.00. These are examples of common window sizes. Every shade is priced from the measurements of the window it is for.

A roller blind at 36 by 72 inches is $192.30. It uses one panel of fabric with no bands. A motorized zebra shade at 42 by 84 inches is $469.80, with the remote extra, once. These prices are before tax and include shipping in Canada. GST or HST is charged by delivery province. There is no minimum order. Custom shades are final sale once the order is confirmed. That does not apply to a shade that arrives faulty, damaged or different from what was ordered.

Where the facts come from. What this page says about ArtWalk comes from urbantoronto.ca, which we read on 6 October 2026. ShadeForge makes and fits window shades. We are an independent business with no connection with SmartCentres REIT or with ArtWalk, and the photographs on this page are of other homes we have fitted.
