Festival at the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre is four towers and about 2,500 homes, with deliveries running from late 2025 through the second quarter of 2026. That is a lot of people getting keys to a flat with bare glass in the same few months. We make zebra shades and roller blinds 13 km away in Richmond Hill, and inside that distance we come and hang them.
What is happening at the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre
Festival is a four tower development at the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre by Menkes and QuadReal. Around 2,500 homes are being delivered, from late 2025 through the second quarter of 2026, which is reported at https://renx.ca/menkes-quadreal-east-tower-bravo-vaughan-metropolitan-centre and read by us on 20 September 2026. Bravo and Vincent are rising in the same neighbourhood, and Vaughan approved a further master plan of seventeen mixed use towers there in June 2026.
We are not going to tell you anything else about the buildings, because we have not been inside them. What we can tell you about is the part that turns up on the day you get the keys: a flat with a great deal of glass and nothing on it.
What fits a tower window
A zebra shade suits a tower better than most things. It is two layers on one roller, alternating sheer and solid bands. Line the bands up and the solid ones close together for privacy. Offset them and the light comes through the sheer bands instead of a wall of fabric, which is the point of a window you paid for. One shade does both jobs, so a floor to ceiling window does not need a blind and a curtain.
We make from 9 to 109 inches wide and up to 130 inches high, to the eighth of an inch. A balcony slider is usually the widest opening in the flat, and at 94 inches and over the shade travels by courier in its own carton, which adds $85 once to the order however many shades are on it. Two shades side by side is often the better answer on a very wide slider, and it costs less to ship.
You choose which side the chain hangs on. The chain is a continuous loop, sold shrouded, and it is anchored to the wall with a tension device. If you would rather have no chain at all, any shade can be motorized for $115 and one remote at $50 runs up to fifteen of them, which for a whole flat is usually one remote.
What will shades cost for the whole flat
Real figures, chain operated, before tax, with free shipping anywhere in Canada. A 30 by 60 inch bedroom window is $206.00. A 36 by 72 inch window is $274.20. A 48 by 72 inch living room window is $348.60. A 96 by 84 inch balcony slider is $745.40. Motorized, add $115 to each and $50 once for the remote.
A one bedroom flat with those three windows and the slider therefore comes to $1,574.20 before tax, chain operated, plus the $85 courier charge the slider brings. There is no minimum: if you want to do the bedroom first and the rest in the spring, one shade is a perfectly good order.
Should I ask the building anything before ordering
Two things are worth five minutes. Many buildings set a rule about what the street side of the glass looks like, so ask the management office or read your declaration before you choose a colour. And find out what the window head is actually made of before anybody drills, because in a tower it may well be concrete, which wants a masonry bit and the right plug rather than the screws in the box.

Do you come and install them
Yes. The Vaughan Metropolitan Centre is about 13 km from our workshop, well inside the 75 km we cover. Installation is $100 a window, minimum three windows for a visit, and 20% off at seven or more, charged on top of the shades. We measure, we make, we hang them, and we take the packaging away.
If several flats in the same building are ordering at once, say so when you book. The same visit covers more than one home and the discount at seven windows is easy to reach between neighbours.
