Blinds for your move into Vincent in Vaughan

Getting your keys at Vincent this month means deciding what to put over bare glass. We make shades to measure in Richmond Hill and dispatch them within three working days of a confirmed order, with transit on top. Zebra shades let you change privacy by moving the bands. Motors help with hard-to-reach glass. Vincent is within our installation area, and shipping across Canada is free.

What is Vincent and are people moving in now?

Vincent is a development of towers in Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, Vaughan. The first move-in was targeted for 2026, and people are moving in now.

Can I motorize a tall or hard-to-reach shade?

You can add a motor to any shade. At 60 by 84 inches, motorization adds $115.00 to the chain-operated price. The motorized zebra shade at 60 by 84 inches costs $600.00 before tax. For that 60 by 84 inches shade, the remote is $50.00 extra, once. One remote runs up to 15 shades.

A motorized shade has no chain at all. That is worth considering for a tower window where reaching a chain would be awkward. You can motorize one shade without motorizing every shade in the home. Think about which panes you will adjust often and which controls you can comfortably reach before choosing how each shade will operate.

Can I arrange installation with neighbours?

If several neighbours are getting ready to cover bare windows, tell us when you ask about booking. Flats in one building can repeat, so it is worth discussing the work together. One visit can cover more than one home.

Each shade still needs the measurements of the opening it will cover. Measure every window you want to order, even when openings look alike. There is no minimum order for shades, so one shade is fine. If you are ordering just for your own home, you can start with the window you need covered first.

What suits floor-to-ceiling glass?

A zebra shade gives you two ways to use one covering on a tall pane. Its sheer and solid bands alternate on one roller. Line the bands up for privacy, or offset them for filtered daylight. You can use that adjustment without adding a curtain. A roller blind is one panel of fabric with no bands. Shangri-La shades have soft fabric vanes between two sheer layers. Their chain tilts the vanes open or closed, then rolls the shade up. We make them in materials 33 and 35, and you can price and order them online.

Measuring width: take the width of the window opening at the top, the middle and the bottom, then order the narrowest of the three. 1 2 3 Top Middle Bottom Measure all three. Order the NARROWEST width
Three width measurements. The narrowest one is the one that matters. It is the only width guaranteed to clear the frame.

Decide on the mount before measuring. An inside mount sits within the opening and needs at least 2 inches of flat depth for the cassette. With less depth, choose an outside mount. For an inside mount, measure width first, then height, to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. Take widths at the top, middle and bottom, and use the narrowest. Measure heights to the sill at the left, middle and right, and use the longest. Give us the exact opening without subtracting anything; we make the deduction. An outside mount overlaps the opening: add at least 2 inches each side and 2 to 3 inches above.

How does the chain work?

Our chain-operated shades use a continuous-loop chain. It is sold shrouded and anchored to the wall with a tension device. You choose which side the chain hangs on when you order. Our workshop sets the drop length to suit the window you have measured.

Choose the control side while you are thinking about the mount and how you will reach the shade. For a zebra shade, the chain moves the bands and raises or lowers the shade. For a Shangri-La shade, it tilts the fabric vanes before rolling the shade up. If you choose a motor instead, there is no chain to position.

What will made-to-measure blinds cost?

These are example sizes for common windows. We price every shade from the measurements of the window it is for. A chain-operated zebra shade at 24 by 72 inches, a narrow full-height pane, is $199.80. At 30 by 60 inches, a bedroom window example, it is $206.00. At 60 by 80 inches, a balcony door example, it is $464.33. At 60 by 84 inches, a wide living room window example, it is $485.00. Together, the 24 by 72 inches, 30 by 60 inches, 60 by 80 inches and 60 by 84 inches zebra shades come to $1,355.13.

A roller blind at the same 24 by 72 inches size is $139.20. These prices are before tax and include shipping in Canada. GST or HST is charged by delivery province. We make shades from 9 to 109 inches wide and up to 130 inches high, to the eighth of an inch. We assemble your order in Richmond Hill and dispatch it within three working days of confirmation. Transit takes additional time. Custom shades cannot be returned once the order is confirmed.

Where the facts come from. What this page says about Vincent comes from renx.ca, which we read on 20 September 2026. ShadeForge makes and fits window shades. We are an independent business with no connection with Vincent, and the photographs on this page are of other homes we have fitted. The picture marked Illustration was made by computer to show the kind of window: it is not a picture of Vincent, and not a photograph of our work.
