What is Gallery Towers and are people moving in?
Gallery Towers is a development in Markham Centre, Markham, being built by The Remington Group. It has two high-rise buildings of 25 and 28 storeys rising from a shared podium in Downtown Markham, with 480 suites that include two-storey penthouses and townhomes. The development is now occupying and nearly sold out, with people getting their keys and moving in.
Can I see the material before ordering blinds?
You can order free material samples on our website before buying. A colour on a screen is a poor guide to how fabric will look in your room. Put the samples beside the window and compare them with the finishes you have chosen. We identify materials by the numbers we cut them by, so keep the number with the sample you prefer.
For room-darkening zebra shades, choose from materials 1, 2, 5, 9, 13 and 30. Material 35 is the room-darkening choice for Shangri-La shades. These are the dark colours. Use the samples to choose the appearance you want before confirming the order.
What blinds suit floor-to-ceiling condo glass?
A zebra shade has alternating sheer and solid bands on one roller. Line the bands up for privacy or offset them for filtered light. A tall condo pane can have those adjustments from one shade without adding a curtain. A roller blind has one panel of fabric with no bands. Shangri-La shades have soft fabric vanes held between two sheer layers. The chain tilts the vanes open or closed, then rolls the shade up. They have their own size-based pricing and can be ordered online.
IllustrationDecide on the mount before measuring. An inside mount sits within the opening and needs at least 2 inches of flat depth for the cassette. With less depth, choose an outside mount. An outside mount fixes to the wall above the opening; add at least 2 inches each side and 2 to 3 inches above. Measure width first, then height, to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. For an inside mount, measure width at the top, middle and bottom and use the narrowest. Measure height from the top of the opening to the sill at the left, middle and right and use the longest. Give us the exact opening without subtracting anything. We make the deduction ourselves.

Ask the management office about window coverings before choosing a colour. Many buildings set a rule about how windows look from outside. Get the requirement before settling on a material, then compare it with the actual sample.
Keep your chosen material number with the measurements for each window. Custom shades are final sale once the order is confirmed, so check those details before ordering. That final-sale condition does not apply to a shade that arrives faulty, damaged or different from what was ordered.
How does the chain work?
Our chain-operated shades use a continuous loop. The chain is sold shrouded and anchored to the wall with a tension device. You choose which side it hangs on when ordering. Our workshop sets its drop length to suit the window you have measured. Think about where you will reach the chain before choosing its side.
Any shade can be motorized for $115.00 more. A motorized shade has no chain at all. One remote costs $50.00 and runs up to 15 shades. The remote is a separate charge, once, so include it when comparing chain operation with motor operation.
What do made-to-measure blinds cost at real sizes?
For a chain-operated zebra shade, a narrow full-height pane at 24 by 72 inches is $199.80. A bedroom-window example at 30 by 60 inches is $206.00. A balcony-door example at 60 by 80 inches is $464.33. A wide living-room-window example at 60 by 84 inches is $485.00. All four together come to $1,355.13. These are common-window examples. Price each condo window from its own measurements.
A roller blind at 24 by 72 inches is $139.20. A motorized zebra shade at 60 by 84 inches is $600.00, with the remote extra, once. These prices are before tax and include shipping in Canada. GST or HST is charged by delivery province. There is no minimum order; one shade is fine. We make shades to order in Richmond Hill and dispatch within three working days of a confirmed order. Transit is additional. The website accepts Interac e-Transfer.
Will you come and install the blinds?
Gallery Towers is roughly 10 km from our workshop in a straight line. Our installation area extends 75 km from Elgin Mills and Yonge in Richmond Hill. Installation costs $100 per window, with a minimum of three windows for a visit. Neighbours in one building can book together, with their homes counted as one order.
When our own team installs a shade, its mechanical parts have lifetime warranty coverage. Those parts are the roller, chain, brackets and motor. For other orders, mechanical-parts coverage is 1 year free, currently upgraded free to 3 years. Fabric is excluded from these warranties.
