There is no minimum order, so one shade is fine. Bedrooms and street-facing rooms are practical places to start in a new house. Cover the rooms where you want privacy first, then order for the other rooms when you are ready. A whole-house order lets you choose everything together. Free material samples can be ordered on the website before buying.
The remake guarantee applies to website orders of three shades or more. It is limited to one blind per customer and does not apply to trade accounts. An installation visit starts at three windows. Custom shades are not returnable once the order is confirmed. That does not apply to a shade that arrives faulty, damaged or different from what you ordered.
Which blinds should I choose for windows facing the street?
Zebra shades alternate sheer and solid bands on one roller. Line the solid bands up for privacy. Offset them for filtered daylight. The continuous-loop chain adjusts the bands and raises or lowers the shade. It is sold shrouded and anchored to the wall with a tension device. You choose which side the chain hangs on. Our workshop sets its drop length.
A roller blind is one panel of fabric with no bands. Shangri-La shades have soft fabric vanes held between two sheer layers. Their chain tilts the vanes open or closed, then rolls the shade up. Our mechanical-parts warranty covers the roller, chain, brackets and motor. The free cover is 1 year, currently upgraded free to 3 years. You can buy 5 year cover at checkout, which shows the dollar price for your order. The fabric is excluded from all of these warranties.
Should I use one wide shade or two on a patio door?
Think about how you walk through the door before deciding. With one wide shade, you raise it to clear the part you use. With two shades, you can raise the shade over the part you walk through and leave the other lowered. We make shades from 9 to 109 inches wide and up to 130 inches high. Widths of 94 inches and over travel by courier in their own carton. The courier charge is $85 once per order.
Decide on an inside or outside mount before measuring. An inside mount needs at least 2 inches of flat depth inside the frame. Measure width first, then height, to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. For an inside mount, measure the opening at the top, middle and bottom and use the narrowest width. Measure down to the sill at the left, middle and right and use the longest height. Do not subtract anything. We make the deduction ourselves. For an outside mount, add at least 2 inches each side and 2 to 3 inches above.
