Moving into The Goode Condos this month with bare glass? We make made-to-measure zebra shades, roller blinds and Shangri-La shades in Richmond Hill. We dispatch within three working days of a confirmed order, with transit time on top. For a condo window, start with the mounting space, your choice of material and how you want to operate it. The building is within our installation area.
What is The Goode Condos, and are people moving in?
The Goode Condos is a 32-storey condominium tower at 33 Parliament Street in Downtown Toronto, at the west end of the Distillery District. It is being built by Graywood Developments. Occupancy has begun and people are moving in now, while its neighbour No. 31 Condos is still rising.
What is the window head made of, and can I fit blinds myself?
In a condo building, the window head is often concrete. That needs a masonry bit and the right plug for the brackets. Check what you are fixing into before drilling. If you cannot identify the material or are unsure how to secure the brackets, leave it to an installer.
Decide on an inside or outside mount before measuring. An inside mount sits within the opening and needs at least 2 inches of flat depth for the cassette. If you have less, choose an outside mount. This fixes to the wall above the opening: add at least 2 inches each side and 2 to 3 inches above. Measure width first, then height, to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. For an inside mount, measure the opening at the top, middle and bottom and use the narrowest width. Measure from the top of the opening to the sill at the left, middle and right and use the longest height. Give us the exact opening measurements without subtracting anything. We make the deduction ourselves.
How does the chain work, and can I choose its side?
Our chain-operated shades use a continuous loop chain, sold shrouded and anchored to the wall with a tension device. You choose which side the chain hangs on when you order. Our workshop sets the drop length to suit the window you have measured. Think about where you will stand to reach the chain before choosing its side.

For a condo window, the way the fabric moves can help you choose a shade. Zebra shades alternate sheer and solid bands on one roller. Line the bands up for privacy or offset them for filtered light. A roller blind is one panel of fabric with no bands. Shangri-La shades have soft fabric vanes held between two sheer layers. The chain tilts the vanes open or closed, then rolls the shade up.
Should I ask the management office before choosing a colour?
Yes. Many condo buildings set a rule about how window coverings look from outside. Ask the management office before choosing a colour or confirming your order.
You can order free material samples on our website before buying. We identify our materials by number, so keep the material number with your measurements. For room-darkening zebra shades, choose from materials 1, 2, 5, 9, 13 and 30. Material 35 is the room-darkening option for Shangri-La shades. Custom shades are final sale once the order is confirmed. That does not apply to a shade that arrives faulty, damaged or different from what was ordered.
Can I motorize a shade for tall or hard-to-reach glass?
Any shade can be motorized for $115.00 more. One remote costs $50.00 and runs up to 15 shades. A motorized shade has no chain at all. For tall or hard-to-reach glass, you can operate it without reaching a chain beside the window.
Allow for the remote separately when working out your order. We make the shades to order in Richmond Hill and dispatch within three working days of a confirmed order. Transit time is additional, so dispatch is only part of the wait before your shades arrive.
What do made-to-measure condo blinds cost?
These are common window-size examples. Each shade is priced from the measurements of the window it is for. A chain-operated zebra shade at 24 by 72 inches, a narrow full-height pane, is $199.80. At 30 by 60 inches, a bedroom window example, it is $206.00. At 60 by 80 inches, a balcony door example, it is $464.33. At 60 by 84 inches, a wide living room window example, it is $485.00. All four together come to $1,355.13.
IllustrationA roller blind at 24 by 72 inches is $139.20. A motorized zebra shade at 60 by 84 inches is $600.00, with the remote extra, once. These worked prices are before tax and include shipping in Canada. GST or HST is charged by delivery province. There is no minimum shade order, so one shade is fine.
Will you come and install blinds at The Goode Condos?
Yes. The building is roughly 25 km from our workshop in a straight line. Our installation area extends 75 km from Elgin Mills and Yonge in Richmond Hill. Installation costs $100 per window, with a minimum of three windows. At seven or more, installation is 20% less. Neighbours in one building who book together count as one order for that rate.
When our own team installs a shade, the mechanical parts have lifetime warranty coverage. Those parts are the roller, chain, brackets and motor. Fabric is excluded. Our workshop is an assembly shop, so order free material samples through the website to see them before buying.

Where the facts come from. What this page says about The Goode Condos comes from urbantoronto.ca, which we read on 6 October 2026. ShadeForge makes and fits window shades. We are an independent business with no connection with Graywood Developments or with The Goode Condos, and the photographs on this page are of other homes we have fitted. The picture marked Illustration was made by computer to show the kind of window: it is not a picture of The Goode Condos, and not a photograph of our work.
