What is South Forest Hill Residences, and how far along is it?
South Forest Hill Residences is a pair of condominium towers at 63 through 91 Montclair Avenue in Forest Hill, Midtown Toronto. The towers are 20 and 21 storeys, with 463 condominium units. Arcadis designed the development for Parallax and Westdale Properties.
Construction began in November 2023. The development is under construction, with the towers topped off and largely enclosed.
Can I see the material before choosing blinds?
You can order free material samples from our website before buying. A colour on a screen is a poor guide to how the material will look in a room. Take the samples into the finished space when you have access. Look at them alongside the surfaces and furnishings you plan to keep.

We identify each material by the number our workshop cuts it by. Keep that number with your window notes when you make your choice. You can get this part started while your closing date is still ahead, without confirming a custom order before you have finished measurements.
When can I first measure a condo window before closing?
The first useful chance is usually the visit before closing, when the home is finished. Bring a tape and measure every opening. Decide on an inside or outside mount first. For an inside mount, check for at least 2 inches of flat depth inside the frame. Measure width first, then height, to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. Measure the width at the top, middle and bottom. Write down the narrowest. Measure the height to the sill at the left, middle and right, and use the longest. Send the exact opening measurements without subtracting anything. We make the deduction ourselves. For an outside mount, add at least 2 inches each side and 2 to 3 inches above.
We make shades to order in Richmond Hill and dispatch within three working days of a confirmed order. Transit is on top. Count both making and delivery time when planning around your moving date. Wait for finished measurements before confirming the order. Custom shades are final sale once confirmed. That does not apply to a shade that arrives faulty, damaged or different from what was ordered.
Should I ask the management office before choosing blinds?
Ask the management office about window coverings before choosing a colour. Many buildings set a rule about how windows look from outside. Get the requirements that apply to your condo before settling on a material.
Keep that answer with your samples and measurements. You can ask while waiting for access to the finished home. Once you have the requirements, compare your material samples against them before ordering.
What suits a floor to ceiling condo window?
A zebra shade has alternating sheer and solid bands on one roller. Line the bands up for privacy, or offset them for filtered daylight. That gives a tall pane both adjustments without needing a blind and a curtain. A roller blind has one panel of fabric with no bands. Shangri-La shades have soft fabric vanes held between two sheer layers. The chain tilts the vanes open or closed and then rolls the shade up.
IllustrationOur chain-operated shades use a continuous-loop chain, sold shrouded and anchored to the wall with a tension device. You choose which side the chain hangs on. Our workshop sets its drop length to suit the measured window. Any shade can be motorized for $115.00 more. A motorized shade has no chain. One remote costs $50.00 and runs up to 15 shades.
What should I budget for made-to-measure blinds?
These prices use examples of common window sizes. A chain-operated zebra shade at 30 by 72 inches is $237.00. At 48 by 84 inches, a chain-operated zebra shade is $398.20. At 72 by 80 inches, it is $547.00. At 72 by 84 inches, it is $571.80. All four together come to $1,754.00. A roller blind at 30 by 72 inches is $165.75. A motorized zebra shade at 72 by 84 inches is $686.80. The remote is extra, once.
Every shade is priced from the measurements of the window it is for. These prices are before tax and include shipping in Canada. GST or HST is charged by delivery province. Widths of 94 inches and over travel by courier in their own carton, with an $85 charge once per order. There is no minimum order, so one shade is fine. Website payment is by Interac e-Transfer.
Can ShadeForge come and install the blinds?
South Forest Hill Residences is roughly 20 km from our workshop in a straight line. It is inside our installation area, which extends 75 km from Elgin Mills and Yonge in Richmond Hill. Installation costs $100 per window, with a minimum three windows for a visit.
When our own team installs a shade, its mechanical parts have lifetime warranty coverage. The covered parts are the roller, chain, brackets and motor. Fabric is excluded. Our Richmond Hill workshop is an assembly shop, so it does not have a showroom.

Where the facts come from. What this page says about South Forest Hill Residences comes from urbantoronto.ca, which we read on 6 October 2026. ShadeForge makes and fits window shades. We are an independent business with no connection with Parallax Investment Corporation and Westdale Properties or with South Forest Hill Residences, and the photographs on this page are of other homes we have fitted. The picture marked Illustration was made by computer to show the kind of window: it is not a picture of South Forest Hill Residences, and not a photograph of our work.
