Nahid on Kennedy is a 12-storey condominium being built by Nahid Corporation at the southeast corner of Kennedy Road and Corvette Avenue in Scarborough Junction, Toronto. It will deliver 269 condominium units.
Construction began in May 2024. The building is under construction, has topped off, and has cladding covering most of the elevations.
How much does a motor cost for a tall or hard-to-reach shade?
Any shade can be motorized for $115.00 more. One remote costs $50.00 and runs up to 15 shades. A motorized shade has no chain. For tall or hard-to-reach glass, choosing the control before ordering helps you budget for how you will use the shade. Add the remote once for the shades it will run.
Our chain-operated shades have a continuous loop chain, sold shrouded and anchored to the wall with a tension device. You choose which side the chain hangs on. Our workshop sets the drop length. Think about where you can comfortably reach the control when choosing between a chain and a motor.
Can neighbours book their blinds installation together?
Neighbours in one building can book together. One visit can cover more than one home. If you are talking with neighbours before moving, you can discuss a shared installation booking while everyone chooses materials.
Homes that book together are counted as one order for installation pricing. Installation costs $100 per window, with a minimum of three. At seven or more windows, we take 20% off the installation charge. Measure every window individually, even when openings look alike.
When is a roller blind a better choice than a zebra shade?
A roller blind is one plain panel of fabric with no bands. A chain-operated roller blind at 24 by 72 inches is $139.20 before tax. A chain-operated zebra shade at 24 by 72 inches is $199.80 before tax. Shipping in Canada is included. A roller blind is a practical choice when you prefer a plain panel and want the lower price at that size.

When can a condo window first be measured for blinds?
A floor plan gives you a room layout. It does not give you the finished window opening needed to cut a shade. The first measurement you can order from needs a finished frame and access to it. Decide on the mount before measuring. An inside mount sits within the opening and needs at least 2 inches of flat depth for the cassette. With less depth, choose an outside mount. An outside mount overlaps the opening: add at least 2 inches each side and 2 to 3 inches above.
Measure width first, then height, to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. For an inside mount, measure the opening at the top, middle and bottom, and use the narrowest width. Measure down to the sill at the left, middle and right, and use the longest height. Send the exact opening measurements without subtracting anything. We make the deduction ourselves. Measure every window in the same pass with the same tape. Each shade is cut from the measurements of the opening it is for.
What should I budget for made-to-measure blinds?
For chain-operated zebra shades, a 24 by 72 inches narrow full-height pane is $199.80. A 30 by 60 inches bedroom window is $206.00. A 60 by 80 inches balcony door is $464.33. A 60 by 84 inches wide living room window is $485.00. All four together come to $1,355.13 before tax, with shipping in Canada included. These are common window examples. Every shade is priced from its own window measurements.
GST or HST is charged by delivery province. There is no minimum order, so one shade is fine. Custom shades are final sale once the order is confirmed. That does not apply to a shade that arrives faulty, damaged or different from what was ordered. Choose your material and check your measurements before confirming.
