Y9825 Richmond Hill blinds before your closing date

Y9825 is under construction in Richmond Hill, with condo and townhouse options from Metroview Developments. With a closing date ahead, you can choose materials and plan your budget while waiting to measure the finished openings. We make shades in Richmond Hill and dispatch within three working days of a confirmed order, with transit on top. Y9825 is within our installation area.

What is Y9825 and how far along is it?

Y9825 is a 22-storey building with 451 units, with both condo and townhouse options. Metroview Developments is building it close to Yonge Street and Major Mackenzie Drive in Richmond Hill. It is the second development in Metroview’s Yonge Series. The building is under construction.

How does the chain work on a condo blind?

Our chain-operated shades use a continuous-loop chain, sold shrouded and anchored to the wall with a tension device. You choose which side the chain hangs on when you order. Our workshop sets the drop length to suit the window you have measured. When planning a condo window covering, think about which side you can reach to operate it.

Any shade can be motorized for $115.00 more. A motorized shade has no chain. One remote costs $50.00 and runs up to 15 shades. You can decide on chain operation or a motor while choosing your materials, before you have the finished measurements.

When can I first measure before closing?

The first chance is usually the visit before closing, when the home is finished. Bring a tape and measure each opening. Decide on an inside or outside mount before measuring. For an inside mount, measure the width at the top, middle and bottom, then write down the narrowest width. Measure down to the sill at the left, middle and right, and use the longest height. Record width first, then height, to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. Give us the exact opening without subtracting anything. We make the deduction ourselves.

Measuring width: take the width of the window opening at the top, the middle and the bottom, then order the narrowest of the three. 1 2 3 Top Middle Bottom Measure all three. Order the NARROWEST width
Three width measurements. The narrowest one is the one that matters. It is the only width guaranteed to clear the frame.

A condo window needs enough mounting depth for the cassette. An inside mount needs at least 2 inches of flat depth within the frame. With less depth, choose an outside mount. This fixes to the wall above the opening and overlaps it. Add at least 2 inches each side and 2 to 3 inches above. Measure every window in the same pass with the same tape, even when the openings look alike.

Why can’t I order from a floor plan?

A floor plan gives you a room. Cutting a shade needs the measurements of the finished window opening, to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. Until that frame is finished and accessible, leave the order measurements open. We make shades from 9 to 109 inches wide and up to 130 inches high.

We make each order in Richmond Hill and dispatch within three working days of a confirmed order. Transit is on top, so allow for delivery when planning around your moving date. Dispatch is the point when the order leaves us. Custom shades are final sale once the order is confirmed. That never applies to a shade that arrives faulty, damaged or different from what was ordered.

Can I see the material before ordering?

You can order free material samples from our website while waiting for the chance to measure. A colour on a screen is a poor guide to how it will look in a room. Keep the samples so you can look at them in the room when access is available. We identify materials by number, so keep that number with each sample.

Zebra shades alternate sheer and solid bands on one roller. Line the bands up for privacy or offset them for filtered light. A roller blind is one panel of fabric with no bands. Shangri-La shades have soft fabric vanes held between two sheer layers. The chain tilts the vanes open or closed, then rolls the shade up. Shangri-La materials 33 and 35 are priced by size on their own line and ordered online.

What should I budget for blinds at real window sizes?

These are common window examples, with every shade priced from the measurements of its own opening. A chain-operated zebra shade for a narrow full-height pane at 24 by 72 inches is $199.80. A bedroom window example at 30 by 60 inches is $206.00. A balcony door example at 60 by 80 inches is $464.33. A wide living room window example at 60 by 84 inches is $485.00. All four together come to $1,355.13. These prices are before tax, with shipping in Canada included.

For comparison, a roller blind at 24 by 72 inches is $139.20. A motorized zebra shade at 60 by 84 inches is $600.00. The remote is extra, once. These sizes are examples rather than measurements from Y9825. There is no minimum order, so one shade is fine. GST or HST is charged by delivery province. Website payment is by Interac e-Transfer.

Does ShadeForge install blinds in Y9825?

Y9825 is a few kilometres from our Richmond Hill workshop, within our installation area of 75 km from Elgin Mills and Yonge. Installation costs $100 per window, with a minimum of three windows for a visit.

Our workshop is an assembly shop, rather than a showroom. When our own team installs a shade, its mechanical parts are covered for life. Those parts are the roller, chain, brackets and motor. The fabric is not covered.
