What is High Park Urban Towns, and is it under construction?
High Park Urban Towns is a stacked townhouse development in Aurora, designed by RAW Design for Caliber Homes. It is on the west side of Yonge Street, north of Reuben Street and south of Tyler Street. The development is under construction.
Which blinds should I choose for bedrooms in a new house?
Our room-darkening zebra materials are 1, 2, 5, 9, 13 and 30. Shangri-La material 35 is also room-darkening. Room-darkening does not shut out all light. You can order free material samples on our website before buying, so choosing materials can begin while your closing date is still ahead.

Zebra shades alternate sheer and solid bands on one roller. Line the bands up for privacy or offset them for filtered light. Shangri-La shades have soft fabric vanes held between two sheer layers. The chain tilts the vanes open or closed, then rolls the shade up. They have their own size-based pricing line and can be ordered online.
Should I order the whole house at once or start with a few rooms?
There is no minimum order. One shade is fine. You can start with bedrooms and street-facing rooms, then order for other rooms later. Each shade is priced from the measurements of the window it is for. A new house needs measurements for every opening you plan to cover.

The remake guarantee applies to website orders of three shades or more and covers one blind per customer. It does not apply to trade accounts. An installation visit starts at three windows. Custom shades are final sale once the order is confirmed. That never covers a shade that arrives faulty, damaged or different from what was ordered.
Can neighbours on a new street book installation together?
One visit can cover more than one house. Homes that book together on one street, or neighbours in one building, are counted as one order for installation. At seven windows or more, installation is 20% off.
That gives you a way to book together if you are starting with only part of your house. You can order a single shade without committing to every room, while the installation visit still needs a minimum of three windows.
When can I measure, and should I choose inside or outside mount?
Measure a new window once its opening and sill are finished and accessible. Decide the mount before measuring. An inside mount sits within the opening for a clean, built-in look. It needs at least 2 inches of flat depth inside the frame for the cassette. With less depth, choose an outside mount. This fixes to the wall above the opening and overlaps it, hiding an out-of-square frame and blocking more light. Add at least 2 inches each side and 2 to 3 inches above.
Measure width first, then height, to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. For an inside mount, measure the width at the top, middle and bottom. Use the narrowest. Measure the height from the top of the opening to the sill at the left, middle and right. Use the longest. Give us the exact opening measurements without subtracting anything. We make the deduction ourselves. Measure every window in the same pass with the same tape.
What should I budget for blinds at real window sizes?
These are common-window examples. Each window in your new house needs its own measurements. A chain-operated zebra shade at 24 by 36 inches is $125.40. At 30 by 48 inches it is $175.00. At 36 by 48 inches it is $199.80. At 36 by 60 inches it is $237.00. All four together come to $737.20. A roller blind at 24 by 36 inches is $86.10. A roller blind is one panel of fabric with no bands.
A motorized zebra shade at 36 by 60 inches is $352.00. Motorization adds $115.00 per shade. One remote is $50.00 and runs up to 15 shades. A motorized shade has no chain. Chain-operated shades have a shrouded continuous-loop chain anchored to the wall with a tension device. You choose its side; our workshop sets its drop. These prices are before tax and include shipping in Canada. GST or HST is charged by delivery province. Widths of 94 inches and over travel by courier in their own carton, with an $85 charge once per order.
