Moving into Daniels on Parliament this month with bare windows? We make made-to-measure zebra shades, roller blinds and Shangri-La shades in Richmond Hill. For a condo window, start with privacy, room-darkening needs and the mounting space. You can order free samples and price each window online. Daniels on Parliament is within our installation area, so we can come and hang your shades.
What is Daniels on Parliament and are people moving in?
Daniels on Parliament is a condominium at Parliament and Gerrard in Regent Park, Downtown Toronto, being built by The Daniels Corporation. It has a 25-storey south tower and a 13-storey north tower on a shared podium, with 617 suites, of which roughly 200 were converted to managed rental units. Move-ins were scheduled for January 2026, and people are moving in now.
Which shades work for a condo bedroom?
For room-darkening, choose from zebra materials 1, 2, 5, 9, 13 and 30, or Shangri-La material 35. These are the dark colours. Room-darkening does not shut out all light. Zebra shades alternate sheer and solid bands on one roller. Line the bands up for privacy or offset them for filtered light.

Shangri-La shades have soft fabric vanes held between two sheer layers. The chain tilts the vanes open or closed, then rolls the shade up. They have their own size-based pricing and can be ordered online. Our chain-operated shades have a shrouded continuous-loop chain anchored to the wall with a tension device. You choose the chain side, and our workshop sets its drop length. Any shade can be motorized for $115.00 more. A motorized shade has no chain. One remote costs $50.00 and runs up to 15 shades.
Should a balcony door have one wide shade or two?
A balcony door is usually the widest opening in a flat. Consider one wide shade or two side by side, and check where the handle lands before choosing the mounting position. We make shades from 9 to 109 inches wide and up to 130 inches high. Widths of 94 inches and over travel by courier in their own carton, charged at $85 once per order.
Decide on an inside or outside mount before measuring. An inside mount needs at least 2 inches of flat depth inside the frame. Measure width first, then height, to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. Take widths at the top, middle and bottom, and use the narrowest. Measure heights to the sill at the left, middle and right, and use the longest. Give us the exact opening without subtracting anything. We make the deduction. For an outside mount, add at least 2 inches each side and 2 to 3 inches above.
Can I see the material before ordering blinds?
Free material samples can be ordered on our website before you buy. A colour on a screen is a poor guide to how the fabric will look in your room. Put the sample beside the window and compare it with the finishes you plan to keep. Choose by the material number once you have seen the fabric in the room.
A roller blind is one panel of fabric with no bands. Roller materials are 20, 21, 22 and 31. Shangri-La materials are 33 and 35. We cut materials by their numbers, so keep the number with each sample while you compare them.
Should I ask the management office before choosing a colour?
Check with the management office before choosing a colour. Many buildings set a rule about how window coverings look from outside. Ask what applies before confirming your material choice.
Keep that requirement beside your samples when you choose. If you are comparing zebra shades, roller blinds and Shangri-La shades, ask whether the requirement affects your choice of style as well as colour.
What do made-to-measure condo blinds cost?
For chain-operated zebra shades, a full-height pane example at 36 by 72 inches is $274.20. A floor to ceiling living room window example at 48 by 84 inches is $398.20. A balcony slider example at 72 by 80 inches is $547.00. A wide balcony slider example at 72 by 84 inches is $571.80. All four together come to $1,791.20. These are common-window examples. Every shade is priced from the measurements of the window it is for.
IllustrationAs a roller blind, 36 by 72 inches is $192.30. As a motorized zebra shade, 72 by 84 inches is $686.80, with the remote extra, once. Prices are before tax. GST or HST is charged by delivery province. There is no minimum order, so one shade is fine. Website payment is by Interac e-Transfer. Custom shades are final sale once the order is confirmed. That does not apply to a shade that arrives faulty, damaged or different from what was ordered.
Will you come and install blinds at Daniels on Parliament?
Yes. Daniels on Parliament is roughly 25 km from our workshop in a straight line. We install within 75 km of Elgin Mills and Yonge in Richmond Hill. Installation costs $100 per window, with a minimum of three windows. At seven or more windows, installation is 20% off. Neighbours in one building who book together are counted as one order for that rate.
The mechanical parts of a shade our own team installs have lifetime warranty cover. Those parts are the roller, chain, brackets and motor. Fabric is excluded. Our workshop is an assembly shop, not a showroom, so order material samples through the website.

Where the facts come from. What this page says about Daniels on Parliament comes from danielshomes.ca, which we read on 6 October 2026. ShadeForge makes and fits window shades. We are an independent business with no connection with The Daniels Corporation or with Daniels on Parliament, and the photographs on this page are of other homes we have fitted. The picture marked Illustration was made by computer to show the kind of window: it is not a picture of Daniels on Parliament, and not a photograph of our work.
