NorthCore Condos Toronto blinds before move-in

If you have a closing date ahead at NorthCore Condos in Toronto, you can choose materials and plan your budget while construction continues. Wait until you can measure the finished window opening before confirming a custom order. We make shades in Richmond Hill and dispatch within three working days of confirmation. Allow for transit and arrange installation around your access to the home.

What is NorthCore Condos and how far along is it?

NorthCore Condos is an 18-storey condominium tower with a townhouse block on Sheppard Avenue West, west of Yonge Street in North York, Toronto. Arcadis designed it for Fieldgate Urban, which is building the development. The finished project will have 415 residential units.

The development is under construction. In September 2025, the tower had reached 16 storeys. If your closing date is still ahead, you can use the waiting time to look at materials and work out a window-covering budget.

Can I see the shade materials before ordering?

You can order free material samples from our website before buying. A colour on a screen is a poor guide to how fabric will look in a room. Look at the sample in the room when you have access, alongside the finishes and furnishings you plan to keep.

We identify materials by the number we cut them by. Keep that number with your measurements so you can select the same material when you price the shade. Our workshop at 604 Edward Avenue Unit 15, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 9Y7 is an assembly shop. Order samples through the website.

What blinds suit floor to ceiling glass?

A zebra shade has alternating sheer and solid bands on one roller. Line the bands up for privacy or offset them for filtered daylight. That gives a tall pane both settings without needing a separate blind and curtain. The continuous-loop chain is sold shrouded and anchored to the wall with a tension device. You choose its side, and our workshop sets its drop. A motorized shade has no chain.

Choose the mount before measuring. An inside mount needs at least 2 inches of flat depth inside the frame. Measure width first, then height, to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. Take widths at the top, middle and bottom, and use the narrowest. Take heights down to the sill at the left, middle and right, and use the longest. Give us the exact opening without subtracting anything; we make the deduction. If the depth is less than 2 inches, choose an outside mount. It overlaps the opening: add at least 2 inches each side and 2 to 3 inches above.

Can I book installation with neighbours?

If neighbours are also arranging window coverings, you can book together. One installation visit can cover more than one home. Homes booked together, including neighbours in one building or on one street, count as one order.

Measuring width: take the width of the window opening at the top, the middle and the bottom, then order the narrowest of the three. 1 2 3 Top Middle Bottom Measure all three. Order the NARROWEST width
Three width measurements. The narrowest one is the one that matters. It is the only width guaranteed to clear the frame.

Gather each home's measurements separately, even where openings look alike. Measure every window rather than copying a size from another room or flat. For a shared booking of seven or more windows, keep the full window count together when arranging the work with us.

When is a roller blind the better choice?

A roller blind is one plain panel of fabric with no bands. At 30 by 72 inches, a chain-operated roller blind is $165.75 before tax, with shipping in Canada included. A chain-operated zebra shade at 30 by 72 inches is $237.00 on the same basis.

Choose a roller blind when you prefer a plain fabric panel and a lower price at that size. Choose a zebra shade when you want to adjust the bands between privacy and filtered light. Free samples help you compare the materials before committing to a made-to-measure order.

What should I budget for condo blinds?

These are example sizes, not measurements from NorthCore Condos. A chain-operated zebra shade at 30 by 72 inches is $237.00; at 36 by 84 inches it is $311.40; at 48 by 72 inches it is $348.60; and at 42 by 84 inches it is $354.80. All four together come to $1,251.80 before tax, with shipping in Canada included. Every shade is priced from the measurements of the window it is for.

Motorization adds $115.00 per shade. One remote costs $50.00 and runs up to 15 shades. A motorized zebra shade at 42 by 84 inches is $469.80 before tax, with the remote extra, once. GST or HST is charged by delivery province. You can order a single shade; there is no minimum order. Custom shades are final sale once the order is confirmed. That does not apply to a shade that arrives faulty, damaged or different from what you ordered.

Do you install at NorthCore Condos, and when should I order?

NorthCore Condos is roughly 15 km from our workshop in a straight line, within our installation area of 75 km from Elgin Mills and Yonge in Richmond Hill. Installation is $100 per window, with a minimum of three. Homes that book together count as one order when the combined booking reaches seven or more windows. The mechanical parts of a shade our own team installs have lifetime cover. Fabric is excluded.

The first useful measuring visit is when you have access to the finished opening and can check its dimensions and mounting depth. Keep your closing date as a planning date until that access is available. We make shades to order in Richmond Hill and dispatch within three working days of a confirmed order. Transit is additional, so dispatch and arrival need separate space in your moving plan. Confirm the measurements before placing the order, then arrange installation around access to the home.

Where the facts come from. What this page says about NorthCore Condos comes from urbantoronto.ca, which we read on 6 October 2026. ShadeForge makes and fits window shades. We are an independent business with no connection with Fieldgate Urban or with NorthCore Condos, and the photographs on this page are of other homes we have fitted. The picture marked Illustration was made by computer to show the kind of window: it is not a picture of NorthCore Condos, and not a photograph of our work.
