Bayview Village North Block Toronto blinds before closing

Bayview Village North Block is under construction in North York, Toronto, for QuadReal Property Group. With a closing date ahead, you can choose materials and plan a window budget before you have the keys. Final measurements need access to the finished window openings. We make shades in Richmond Hill and dispatch within three working days of a confirmed order. Transit time is on top.

What is Bayview Village North Block and how far along is it?

Bayview Village North Block is under construction on the north parking areas of Bayview Village Shopping Centre at Sheppard and Bayview in North York, Toronto. QuadReal Property Group is building a 21-storey residential tower and a pair of 8-storey mid-rises.

A crane was installed in August 2025. The North Block will have 430 condominium units and 14 affordable rental homes.

Can I motorize blinds for tall or hard to reach glass?

Any shade we make can be motorized for $115.00 more. One remote costs $50.00 and runs up to 15 shades. A motorized shade has no chain. For a tall or hard to reach condo window, choose the controls while planning the order so the motor and remote are included in your budget.

Our chain-operated shades use a continuous-loop chain, sold shrouded and anchored to the wall with a tension device. When planning the mounting, you choose which side the chain hangs on. Our workshop sets its drop to suit the window you have measured. Think about access to the chain when deciding where furniture will go.

Can neighbours book their blinds installation together?

Neighbours in one building can book together, and one visit can cover more than one home. Homes that book together count as one order for installation pricing. At seven or more windows, installation is 20% off. If several buyers are planning ahead, they can coordinate access and their installation booking.

Even where flats repeat, measure every window rather than copying another home’s measurements. Keep each home’s measurements and choices clearly identified. If you are measuring several windows, do them all in one pass with the same tape. There is no minimum shade order, so one shade is fine.

Should I choose a roller blind instead of a zebra shade?

A roller blind is one plain panel of fabric with no bands. A chain-operated roller blind at 30 by 72 inches is $165.75 before tax, with shipping in Canada included. A chain-operated zebra shade at 30 by 72 inches is $237.00 before tax, with shipping in Canada included. The roller is the better choice if you want a plain fabric surface and the lower price at that size.

A zebra shade alternates sheer and solid bands on one roller. Line the bands up for privacy or offset them for filtered light. Shangri-La shades are another option, with soft fabric vanes held between two sheer layers. The chain tilts the vanes open or closed and then rolls the shade up. They come in materials 33 and 35 and have their own size-based prices online.

Should I ask the management office before choosing blinds?

Ask the management office about the appearance required from outside before choosing a colour. Many buildings set a rule about this. You can order free material samples on our website while waiting for access. Take final measurements once the opening and the surfaces where the brackets will attach are finished and accessible. Decide on an inside or outside mount before measuring.

Measuring width: take the width of the window opening at the top, the middle and the bottom, then order the narrowest of the three. 1 2 3 Top Middle Bottom Measure all three. Order the NARROWEST width
Three width measurements. The narrowest one is the one that matters. It is the only width guaranteed to clear the frame.

For an inside mount, check for at least 2 inches of flat depth inside the frame. Measure width first at the top, middle and bottom, and use the narrowest. Measure height to the sill at the left, middle and right, and use the longest. Measure to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. Give us the exact opening without subtracting anything; we make the deduction. If there is less depth, choose an outside mount. It overlaps the opening: add at least 2 inches each side and 2 to 3 inches above.

What should I budget for condo window blinds?

These are common window examples. Every shade is priced from the measurements of the window it is for. A chain-operated zebra shade at 30 by 72 inches, a tall bedroom window example, is $237.00. At 48 by 84 inches, a floor to ceiling living room window example, it is $398.20. At 72 by 80 inches, a balcony slider example, it is $547.00. At 72 by 84 inches, a wide balcony slider example, it is $571.80. All four together come to $1,754.00.

Those prices are before tax and include shipping in Canada. GST or HST is charged by delivery province. Widths of 94 inches and over travel by courier in their own carton, with an $85 charge once per order. Custom shades are not returnable once the order is confirmed. That does not cover a shade that arrives faulty, damaged or different from what was ordered.
