What is Nahid on Broadview, and are people moving in?

Nahid on Broadview is a six-storey mixed-use building by Nahid Corporation and Options Development, with 33 residential units. It is in East Toronto, just north of Danforth Avenue opposite Broadview station. Occupancy of the first units began in late 2024, construction had reached its final stages in March 2025, and people are moving in now.

What is a condo window head made of?

In a condo building, the window head is often concrete. It needs a masonry bit and the right plug. Check what you are fastening into before drilling. If you cannot identify the material or choose the right fixing, leave the work to an installer. Decide on an inside or outside mount before measuring. An inside mount sits within the opening and needs at least 2 inches of flat depth for the cassette. If there is less depth, choose an outside mount. An outside mount overlaps the opening: add at least 2 inches each side and 2 to 3 inches above.

Measuring width: take the width of the window opening at the top, the middle and the bottom, then order the narrowest of the three. 1 2 3 Top Middle Bottom Measure all three. Order the NARROWEST width
Three width measurements. The narrowest one is the one that matters. It is the only width guaranteed to clear the frame.

Measure the width first, then the height, to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. For an inside mount, measure the opening at the top, middle and bottom and use the narrowest width. Measure down to the sill at the left, middle and right and use the longest height. Give us the exact opening without subtracting anything. We make the deduction ourselves. Measure every window you plan to cover, using the same tape.

Should I ask management before choosing a colour?

Ask the management office before choosing your material. Many condo buildings set a rule about how window coverings look from outside. Check the requirement before confirming your order. Free material samples can be ordered on our website before buying.

We identify our materials by number. Zebra materials 1, 2, 5, 9, 13 and 30 are room-darkening options. Shangri-La material 35 is also room-darkening. Keep the material number with your window measurements when you order.

Would a roller blind work better than a zebra shade?

A roller blind is one plain panel of fabric with no bands. A chain-operated roller blind at 24 by 72 inches is $139.20 before tax, with shipping in Canada included. A chain-operated zebra shade at 24 by 72 inches is $199.80 on the same basis. A roller blind is the better choice when you want a plain layer or want to keep the cost lower at that size. We make roller blinds in materials 20, 21, 22 and 31.

A zebra shade alternates sheer and solid bands on one roller. Line the bands up for privacy or offset them for filtered light. Shangri-La shades have soft fabric vanes held between two sheer layers. The chain tilts the vanes open or closed, then rolls the shade up. Materials 33 and 35 are available for Shangri-La shades, priced by size on their own line and ordered online.

How does the chain work, and can I choose its side?

Our chain-operated shades use a continuous-loop chain. It is sold shrouded and anchored to the wall with a tension device. You choose which side the chain hangs on when ordering. Our workshop sets the drop length to suit the window you have measured.

Any shade can be motorized for $115.00 more. A motorized shade has no chain. One remote costs $50.00 and runs up to 15 shades.
