ShadeForge cuts and assembles made-to-measure zebra shades, roller blinds and Shangri-La shades at 604 Edward Avenue, Unit 15, Richmond Hill, Ontario. Not an importer, not a reseller: the roller, the fabric and the bracket are put together on our bench, which is why a confirmed order leaves in three working days and why a remake is a phone call rather than a claim form.
What we supply by the building
One shade or four hundred, the same product and the same tolerances. Widths from 9 to 109 inches and drops to 130 inches, made to the eighth of an inch. Chain operated with a shrouded continuous loop, or motorized. Every material is identified by the number the workshop cuts by, so a schedule that says "material 1" cannot be misread.
For scale: a 36 by 60 inch zebra shade is $237.00 at retail before tax. A trade account buys at a trade price by the square foot and collects from the workshop, and a project is quoted on its own schedule.
Putting us in a specification
Roller and zebra shades sit in MasterFormat Division 12, Furnishings: section 12 24 13, Roller Window Shades, under 12 24 00 Window Shades. Horizontal blinds are 12 21 13. If you are writing the section, ask us for the product data and we will send what belongs in a submittal: sizes and tolerances, the materials with their numbers, the operation, the warranty, and the bilingual warning that goes on the product. The current spec sheet is here and it carries no prices, so it can go straight into a package.
Installation and measuring
Within 75 km of Yonge and Elgin Mills in Richmond Hill we measure and install: $100 a window, minimum three, 20% off at seven or more, charged on top of the shades. On a building where the units repeat, one measured unit per floor plan is usually enough, and that is the visit worth booking first. Beyond the radius we ship free anywhere in Canada and your own trades hang them.
The commercial facts
Made in Ontario. Three working days from a confirmed order to dispatch, transit on top. Registered for GST/HST, number 835173287RT001, charged by the delivery province. Warranty is on the mechanical parts: the roller, the chain, the brackets and the motor, and never the fabric. Custom shades are not returnable once an order is confirmed, which never covers a shade that arrives defective, damaged or not as specified. An approved trade account pays by Interac e-Transfer, or in cash when it collects the order from the workshop.
