How much does a zebra shade cost for a common window?
We make each shade to the measurements of the window it is for. A tall window beside the door and a front window need their own measurements. Enter the width and height of your window when you price it on our website.

For 30 by 72 inches, 36 by 84 inches, 60 by 60 inches and 72 by 80 inches together, the chain-operated zebra shades come to $1,456.40 before tax. That is the shade total for those window measurements. GST or HST is charged by delivery province. There is no minimum order, so you can order one shade.
What changes when I choose a different size or shade type?
We make shades from 9 to 109 inches wide and up to 130 inches high. Measurements can be given to the eighth of an inch. A chain-operated zebra shade at 60 by 60 inches is $361.00 before tax. Price your window with its measured width and height rather than choosing the nearest example.
The shade type also changes the price. At 30 by 72 inches, a chain-operated zebra shade is $237.00 before tax. At 30 by 72 inches, a roller blind is $165.75 before tax. Zebra shades have alternating sheer and solid bands on one roller. You line the bands up for privacy and offset them for filtered light. A roller blind has one panel of fabric with no bands.
We identify each material by the number we cut it by. You can order free material samples on the website before buying. Zebra materials 1, 2, 5, 9, 13 and 30 are room-darkening in the dark colours. Shangri-La shades use materials 33 and 35, with soft fabric vanes between two sheer layers. The chain tilts the vanes open or closed, then rolls the shade up. They have their own size-based pricing line and can be ordered online.
How much does it cost to motorize a zebra shade?
Any shade can be motorized for $115.00 more. A remote costs $50.00 and runs up to 15 shades. The remote is extra, once. Keep that separate charge in your order when you choose motor operation.
At 72 by 80 inches, the chain-operated zebra shade is $547.00 before tax. At 72 by 80 inches, the motorized zebra shade is $662.00 before tax. A motorized shade has no chain at all.
Our chain-operated shades have a continuous loop chain, sold shrouded and anchored to the wall with a tension device. You choose which side the chain hangs on. We set the drop length in the workshop. You can choose the chain side for each chain-operated shade you order.
Are there delivery charges, and when is an order ready?
Widths of 94 inches and over travel by courier in their own carton. The courier charge is $85 once per order. Check the width of each window when you work through the delivery charges for your order.
We make your shades to order in Richmond Hill, Ontario. We dispatch within three working days of a confirmed order. Transit time is on top. Our workshop is at 604 Edward Avenue Unit 15, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 9Y7. It is an assembly shop.
The website accepts Interac e-Transfer. Custom shades are final sale once the order is confirmed. That condition never covers a shade that arrives faulty, damaged or different from what you ordered. The remake guarantee allows one blind per customer and applies to website orders of three shades or more. Trade accounts are excluded.
What does installation cost, and which parts have warranty cover?
We install within 75 km of Elgin Mills and Yonge in Richmond Hill. Installation costs $100 per window, with a minimum of three windows. Installation is a separate charge from the made-to-measure shades.
The mechanical parts have 1 year of free warranty cover, currently upgraded free to 3 years. Those parts are the roller, chain, brackets and motor. The mechanical parts of a shade installed by our own team are covered for life.
You can buy 5 year mechanical cover at checkout. The checkout shows its price in dollars for your order. The fabric is excluded from every warranty option.
