Material 7 is a zebra shade with alternating sheer and solid bands on one roller. Line the bands up for privacy, or offset them for filtered light. We identify the material by its workshop number, 7, so you can quote that number when you order. Each shade is made to the measurements of the window it is for.
Where would I use Material 7 at home?
A front window, a tall window beside the door, a stairwell window and a patio door are places to consider Material 7. On the window, the bands run horizontally across the fabric. Think about where you want that banded pattern in your home.
For a front room, look at the sample alongside the furnishings already there. For a stairwell, think about where you would reach the chain. You choose which side it hangs on, and we set its drop length in the workshop.
What does Material 7 cost at common window sizes?
For a tall window beside the door, a chain-operated Material 7 zebra shade at 30 by 72 inches is $237.00. A tall stairwell example at 36 by 84 inches costs $311.40. For a front window measuring 60 by 60 inches, the price is $361.00. The patio door example, 72 by 80 inches, comes to $547.00. All four together total $1,456.40. These prices include shipping in Canada and are before tax. GST or HST is charged by delivery province.
These are common window examples, rather than measurements from a particular home. Any shade can be motorized for $115.00 more. One remote costs $50.00 and runs up to 15 shades. A motorized shade has no chain.
How is my Material 7 shade made and delivered?
We make shades to order in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Available sizes run from 9 to 109 inches wide and up to 130 inches high, measured to the eighth of an inch. We dispatch within three working days of a confirmed order, with transit time on top. Widths of 94 inches and over travel by courier in their own carton, with an $85 charge once per order.
The chain-operated version has a continuous loop chain, sold shrouded and anchored to the wall with a tension device. Custom shades are final sale once the order is confirmed. That does not cover a shade that arrives faulty, damaged or different from what was ordered.
