This page explains what ShadeForge collects when you use this site, why we collect it, and what we do and do not do with it. Plain English, no lawyer padding.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email, phone number, billing and shipping address, your window measurements and the options you chose.
- When you request samples or contact us: your name, email and shipping address, plus whatever you tell us in your message.
- When you request a call back: your phone number and the time you asked us to call.
- Automatically: standard web server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) and the cookies described below.
Payment information
We never see or store your full card number. Card payments are handled by our payment processor, which sends us only a confirmation and the last digits needed to identify the transaction.
Cookies
This site sets cookies that are needed to make it work: a cart cookie so your selections survive between pages, and a session cookie if you log in. Our network provider, Cloudflare, sets cookies used for security and to keep the site fast. We do not run advertising trackers or sell data to advertisers.
Why we use it
To build and ship your order, answer your questions, handle warranty and remake claims, keep proper business records, and detect fraud or abuse. That is the whole list.
Who we share it with
Only the parties needed to complete your order: our payment processor, the shipping carrier that delivers to you, and the service providers that host and protect this website. They may only use the information to perform that work for us. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Marketing
We only send marketing email to people who have asked for it, and every such message has an unsubscribe link that works. Order and shipping notifications are not marketing and will still be sent.
How long we keep it
Order and sale records are kept for six years, because we are required to keep business records of what we manufactured and sold. Enquiries that do not become orders are kept only as long as they are useful, then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS. Access to order data is limited to the people who need it to build and ship your order.
