What sizes and controls can I specify?
We make shades from 9 to 109 inches wide and up to 130 inches high, to the eighth of an inch. Each shade is priced from the measurements of the window it is for. Give each opening a clear description in your window schedule. Keep its width, height, material number and control choice together so you can check the order against the specification.
Our chain-operated shades have a continuous loop chain, sold shrouded and anchored to the wall with a tension device. You choose which side the chain hangs on. We set the drop length at the workshop. Settle the chain side with your client before confirming the order, and record it beside the opening.
Any shade can be motorized for $115.00 more. A motorized shade has no chain. One remote costs $50.00 and runs up to 15 shades. Include the motor and remote in the client’s price approval rather than leaving the control choice until the order is ready to place.
Can I approve a material sample before ordering?
You can order free material samples on the website before buying. We identify materials by the number we cut them by. Use that number in your specification and keep it with the approved sample. This gives the designer, client and person placing the order the same reference.
Zebra shades alternate sheer and solid bands on one roller. Line the bands up for privacy, or offset them for filtered light. The room-darkening zebra materials are 1, 2, 5, 9, 13 and 30, the dark colours. Use the room-darkening description only with those zebra material numbers.
If the job includes other shade types, record the type alongside the material number. Roller blinds use one panel of fabric with no bands. Shangri-La shades have soft fabric vanes held between two sheer layers. Their chain tilts the vanes open or closed and then rolls the shade up. Shangri-La shades use materials 33 and 35 and have their own size-based pricing online.
What lead time should I put in the job schedule?
We make shades to order in Richmond Hill, Ontario, and dispatch within three working days of a confirmed order. Transit time is on top. Widths of 94 inches and over travel by courier in their own carton. The courier charge is $85 once per order.
Trade orders are ready for collection 3 to 5 business days after the order is confirmed. Trade orders are not shipped. You collect from our workshop at 604 Edward Avenue Unit 15, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 9Y7. We work in an assembly shop. Order material samples through the website before buying.

How do I get a price my client can approve?
Designers, decorators, builders, property managers and dealers can apply for a trade account on the website. A person approves each application. Once signed in, you can see your trade price by the square foot. Trade accounts pay by Interac e-Transfer or in cash when collecting.
For website price examples, a chain-operated zebra shade at 24 by 36 inches is $125.40. A chain-operated zebra shade at 48 by 48 inches is $249.40. A chain-operated zebra shade at 48 by 60 inches is $299.00. A chain-operated zebra shade at 72 by 60 inches is $423.00. These are common window examples, with prices before tax. Use the actual measurements for the windows on your job.
Keep the approved measurements, material numbers and controls with the price you present. Check those details before confirming the order. If a choice changes during approval, price that window again before placing it. Website payment is by Interac e-Transfer. GST or HST is charged by delivery province.
What needs checking before I confirm?
There is no minimum order. One shade is fine. Custom shades are final sale once the order is confirmed. That does not cover a shade that arrives faulty, damaged or different from what was ordered. The remake guarantee covers one blind per customer on website orders of three shades or more. It does not apply to trade accounts.
The warranty covers mechanical parts only: the roller, chain, brackets and motor. The free 1 year cover is currently upgraded free to 3 years. Fabric is excluded. You can buy 5 year mechanical cover at checkout, where its price for the order is shown in dollars.
We install within 75 km of Elgin Mills and Yonge in Richmond Hill. Installation costs $100 per window, with a minimum of three. The mechanical parts have cover for life when our own team installs the shade.
